Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, also known as Ari Lennox, a Washington, D.C.-based American singer/songwriter, was signed as Dreamville Records' first female artist on Dreamville Records by J. Cole. The first single, Pho which was released on 21 October 2016 was released by Dreamville Records. The singer began to earn recognition. Shea Butter Baby, her debut studio album was released the 7th of May, 2019. Ari Lennox first uploaded her music on the internet in 2012. She released her debut album Ariography and her mixtape debut in 2013, five Finger Discount. The year 2014 saw her continue to upload her music via the internet, including her self released single Bound. Sweat It is featured on Omen's Elephant Eyes album on July 21, 2015. J. Cole had her submit her tracks to the Dreamville Team later in the year, as he wanted Rihanna to collaborate together on a few references. On December 8 that she had signed with Dreamville Records. The album Revenge of the Dreamers II, she appeared on the track Backseat alongside Cozz. In October 2016 she dropped her debut EP, Pho. Ari Lennox appeared in J. Cole's Change track and also opened with the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour 2017. in 2018, the singer-songwriter guested on two tracks featuring EarthGang, on Nothing but the Best, and Bas on Icarus. Ari Lennox debuted her first single from Shea Butter Baby, Whipped Cream on 16 July 2018. The music video then released in September. The 9th of November saw her release two more singles called 40 Shades of Choke and Grampa. The 13th of November, she came out with two additional singles, The No One or Pedigree. Then she appeared on the Creed II soundtrack with Cole on a track titled Shea Butter Baby on November 16th. She released the single on the 26th of February, 2019, for her debut album of the same name. In February the video music for this song was released. The track has garnered more than three million YouTube views in just one week. In December of 2018 she performed on the From East Atlanta With Love Tour, which featured 6LACK.
